Selenium Cloud Platforms

Selenium Cloud Platforms module is available for the domain admin. This module lists out the cloud platforms available to use in the domain and is based on the subscription you subscribed to and can be accessed by selecting "Selenium Cloud Platforms" from the hamburger menu while in "Administration" context.

Based on the subscription, you would see one or more entries in the grid. In the pic above you can see four entries. This is when you have subscribed to the following forms of testing
  • Cross Browser and Cross Device Testing
  • Functional Testing
  • Mobile App Testing &
  • Performance Testing
There are couple of reasons why you or your domain admin would access this module.
  1. You have your own SauceLabs or BrowserStack account that you intend to use in Worksoft SaaS
  2. Your Application under Test (AUT) is behind a firewall and you need credentials to configure Secure Tunnel
  3. You have subscribed to Mobile App testing and need credentials to inspect mobile app for automating test

Register your Selenium Cloud Provider Account within your Worksoft SaaS Domain

You have subscribed for Cross Browser and Cross Device Testing in Worksoft SaaS Platform but intend to use your own SauceLabs or BrowserStack account as you already have active subscription and paying for that. In such case before any Run Definition or Test Scenario is created, you would need to add the Cloud Platform from here. To start use the Create button to open the add/edit screen (shown below)

Select the required Platform Provider and key in Access Key & Username. If this is the primary cloud where you intend to execute your tests, you can select the default checkbox and before saving can check connection by using Test Connection button. Once the information is saved, the platform can be used by your domain users to execute tests.

Credentials for Secure Tunnel & Mobile App inspection

While configuring secure tunnel and for using appium inspector for identifying element locators, you would need to provide credentials to your domain. These credentials can be accessed by clicking on the hyperlink provided for a specific cloud in the grid. And these are available for Compatibility Cloud & Mobile App Cloud. For details on how to configure the secure tunnel you can refer to the article here.
